Deepthi Gandhiraj, MD, is board certified in pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine, and internal medicine. At Fivestar Pulmonary Associates in Allen, Plano, and McKinney, Texas, she takes pride in having the patient at the center of her treatment plan. She is vibrant, active, and commended by her patients as being very approachable and trustworthy.
Dr.Gandhiraj specializes in treating resistant asthma, severe COPD, chronic cough, ILD and other diffuse parenchymal lung diseases, as well as pneumonia, bronchiectasis and other pulmonary infections, pulmonary hypertension, and pulmonary embolism.
Besides medical treatment, Dr.Gandhiraj specializes in pulmonary procedures like diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy and pleural drainage with and without temporary and long-term catheter placements. She is also well-trained in diagnosing and staging early and late-stage lung cancer using endobronchial ultrasound.
Dr. Gandhiraj completed medical school at the PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore, India, before moving to the USA to complete her Internal Medicine residency at Westchester Medical Center in New York. She completed her Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Saint Louis University in Missouri.
She has published multiple research articles and presented at national and international conferences. Dr. Gandhiraj sets her benchmark high by bringing up-to-date research outcomes in everyday clinical practice.
